Yet another thing about myself that I cannot say without laughing! BWAHAHAHA!!! Actually though, to be completely serious...I am the prez...of Maniscalco Elementary's PTA. And do you know what? I absolutely love it! No, it's not a power-hungry trip, what am I gonna say, "Hey! Look at me! I have my own parking space at the school!" Nah, I park wherever I want so it doesn't matter anyway....BWAHAHAHA! I crack myself up. Alright, silliness aside, I do love it because I truly feel as if I am doing positive things for our teachers and staff which in turn make things better for our children.
But right now I'm about to pull my hair out! For the past two days - and continuing for the next three days - we have been creating a haunted house inside one of the rooms in our school. One mom, someone who I used to be scared of (yea, I know, go ahead and laugh!) has turned out to be a good friend....well, she is a creative GENIUS! And she has a lot of sh**!!! I went with her to her house and we filled up two SUVs (hers is a Suburban!) with tons of Halloween decorations and we went to town! Every day we go in there and do a little more. We can't finish it until Friday, until the custodians remove the chairs they pulled out of the closet (which we've blocked off) but I am so flippin' excited about this thing I'm about to pee my pants! I have sworn off entering it Friday night though...the snake lady will be in there and those of you who know me know how petrified I am of them...blech!
So anyway, back to my frustration...we don't have enough volunteers to help with the haunted house to make it absolutely awesome. I will note though that two of the ladies who are going to help us out are Joann and June from the kitchen...I LOVE OUR LUNCHLADIES!!! We also have teacher activities which still has a LOT of vacant spots...but I've been assured the teachers always come through so not to worry. Worry??? Who, me??? HA!
We're also trying to fill volunteer slots with our wonderful dad who's bringing his huge grill to cook hot dogs...as well as volunteers to dish sodas...as well as volunteers to help clean off tables and such... Yeah, I know. I'm freakin' out already and it's only Tuesday. It's time to unwind. After all...
Ten years from now, it won't matter.
